Fellowship Groups are informal gatherings of people who meet in the relaxed environment of an individual’s home, or other designated meeting place. Groups usually consist of 6-16 people (or 3 – 8 couples) that meet regularly. Fellowship Groups are designed to meet for a period of six to eight sessions (length remains flexible to group). During the last session in a series; new or continued topics of interest are presented, and the formation of new Groups and new leaders is encouraged. A Fellowship Group provides opportunities for participation in: special interest topics, community service activities, missionary outreach, Christian fellowship, reading programs, Bible studies, and more. Groups are composed of a wide diversity of age ranges and stages of life, yet the common bond is Christ centered living, Christian fellowship, and support. Special Interest Material: Each Fellowship Group forms around it's own common topic of interest such as: books & film, topical Bible studies, outdoor activities, cooking, sports, etc. Fellowship Groups are not Bible study meetings. Although, some groups may select a theme or particular area of study focusing on Biblical concepts, groups are designed to encourage Christ centered living. Featured Book Review: One aspect of a Fellowship Group is to offer opportunities for each member to have the support and the tools they need to develop a well disciplined program for their own prayer time, Bible reading, and personal Christian growth. Each member will be encouraged to keep a personal prayer journal, develop a daily Bible reading schedule, and read sound biblical literature to foster spiritual growth. During each meeting, there will be a review of selected Christian books. The featured book will be selected from a reading list based on both the reputation and doctrinal integrity of it's content. A personal Christian reading program will also be encouraged. Circle of Friends: Sharing and Support The heart beat of each Fellowship Group is to encourage Christian individuals to know God, know each other, and to reach out into their churches, and communities to serve others. Together we can encourage each other, share our faith, grow in grace and knowledge, encounter Christ through prayer, participate in Christian accountability, and support one another in love. |
